What is the best ointment/cream that helps reduce eczema?

ive had eczema on my upper thigh for my whole life.

it itches most of the time and ive went to the doctors 7 times and they keep supplying me ointments and creams which only work for a week to reduce iching but then it comes back again.

is there a popular eczema cream that works well for my type of eczema? What is the best ointment/cream that helps reduce eczema?
I've had eczema my entire life, on my face, hands, body - bloody nightmare!

I've had so many creams / ointments over the years and similarly to you - most seem to work initially and then just have little or no effect.

I'd hate to work out how much money I've spent on new and expensive solutions, none of which have ever had any real success - every time someone tells me there is something I should try I'm running to the shops to buy it!

In truth the only thing that has ever given me a constant solution to my eczema is a combination of cream prescribed by the doctor (hydroquortisone for most cases, a stronger steroid cream for the worst bits) and a hell of a lot of E45 - I absolutely swear by the stuff, and it's around the cheapest moisturiser out there, bonus!

The problem with eczema creams is that they dry out the area they are treating, so they need to be used in conjunction with a really good moisturiser, and E45 is the absolute ideal as it is so gentle and rich.

Another good option would be to add some Oilatum (or similar) to your bath - it's a really soft and lovely oil which can give great relief.

Hope that might be some help, I know what a pain eczema can be - hope yours goes away sometime soon. xWhat is the best ointment/cream that helps reduce eczema?
xango.com youl find all your answers there
I have the same pronlem. Unfortunately, there is no cure for this problem. THe creams only work for a bit, then nothing. I have stopped going to the doctor because it is expensive. Good luck!!
Since eczema is a systemic problem topical creams don't do much except make it feel a bit better. You might do well to look for a naturopath who can address the systemic issues. It CAN be cleared up with this approach.
