Please help out there, I am trying to stop breastfeeding. Are there any creams or ointments for hurting breast?

I know it will take awhile for my milk to dry up, and I am in misery. Please help out there, I am trying to stop breastfeeding. Are there any creams or ointments for hurting breast?
Wean gradually ... don't just stop.

Breasmilk is excellent for baby ... not sure why you want to stop. Please help out there, I am trying to stop breastfeeding. Are there any creams or ointments for hurting breast?
No creams - the best way to stop BF is to do it gradually. Stop one feeding for 3 days then stop another feeding for 3 days , ect. Stopping cold turkey - leaves you miserable due to eengorgement - engorgment can lead to plugged duct which could lead to mastitis.

If you must stop cold turkey - take some motrin - it can help with the pain and have your breast constricted - if the pains becomes horrible you can express a little just until you feel the pressure release.
Because the pain is from engorgement (it's on the INSIDE) there are no creams/lotions that will help.

THe main thing you need to do is wean gradually. If you cut out one feeding at a time, your milk supply will gradually decrease and you won't get engorged. Gradual weaning is also much easier on your baby, and greatly reduces the risk that you will get mastitis.
you know what i did? i used cabbage leaves! I heard that from someone i think it was a nurse. It worked. It ws so soothing! You have to put the cabbage in the fridge first, let it get really cold and then you peel off the leaves and place them in your bra. The coolness helps alot and it last for about 10 minutes. Once the leaves get warm, you put more in. I went through an entire cabbage and finally after three days, my milk was gone. Hope this helped. They also have pills you can take to stop from producing milk. The doctor can only presecribe this.
There is no ointment or cream that I know of. Binding helps, as does putting a cold cabbage leaf in your bra - don't know why the last thing works. You can take sage, and even cook with it. But cutting down on nursing gradually, to reduce your pain, will still help lower the milk production over time. Just increase the time between nursing or pumping, like every other day or once a week.
Buy some Lanolin it is a cream/gel that you can put on them...along with some cool gel patches to put in your bras to help. They say dont put on any perfume or lotions on while breastfeeding, so make sure you are completly done before putting anything on them.
You can take an over-the-counter anti inflammatory medication like ibuprofen (Motrin, Advil etc.) to help with the pain. Cold compresses may also help you feel less uncomfortable.
bind yourself up with a very tight towel untill the milk is gone !
why do you want do stop?
