What is the best ointment or cream for insect bites?

itsb een 4 days and the small and big bites is still there, Im quite confused if this is a mosquito bite or allergic reaction to summer's humid super hot weather? im afraid this will cause my skin scars. what's the best cream to treat this? its itchy! What is the best ointment or cream for insect bites?
Calamine lotion has a good itch reliever in it. Try that.Gold Bond makes a good one too. What is the best ointment or cream for insect bites?
If it were a bite you would see the tiny hole in the middle where the stinger was. If they are not round but sometimes long and in a row it is an allergic reaction or hives due to the humidity and perspiration. I use Benedryl to stop the itching. When hives start appearing you can put ice cubes in a towel and put them on the hives. It helps them go away quicker.
I reccomend a cortizone cream or something along those lines
well to take care of the general itching you can use good old aloe plant. best for soothing the skin. and if you want to prevent scaring use neosporin. very good for heal time and admonishment of scar tissue. =)
Anaesthetic, or steroid cream, such as crotamiton cream, can be used to soothe the pain of a bite. Antihistamine tablets can also help.

Do not apply cream, or ointment, to broken skin and always follow the instructions on the packet. Although the bite may be itchy, avoid scratching it because you may damage the skin, and allow bacteria to get in, leading to infection.
