If the dog is yours and it's been vaccinated use polysporin for cuts and it has antibiotics in the cream.

if you have a dog bite you need to get a tetanus shot in case the dog has rabies.

Go to the hospital they will give you a needle%26amp; bandage up your bite

Are there any creams or ointments that i can put on my vagina to stop it ripping in labour?

i am 5 months at the moment, and starting to think about the labour and if theres anythng i can use to prevent ripping or tearing in labourAre there any creams or ointments that i can put on my vagina to stop it ripping in labour?
I think some natural health professionals put different natural oils on there. Also, the traditional Indian medicine has some really neat ideas for childbirth. I think it's called Ayuveda (pretty sure that's a misspeling.) Any Indians who could help me with this one?Are there any creams or ointments that i can put on my vagina to stop it ripping in labour?
What the hell is the point of that? You made the decision to have a kid, and now you want to make it easier or more pleasant?

Is pregnancy entirely so inconvenient to you?

You'll never be the same again, and five months is too late to back out. Start preparing to give up at least the next 20 years of your life to your baby. And no one else is gonna' want your vagina as badly again, ';tear'; or ';no tear.';
unfortunetly for us, no there nothing you can do, that depends on the size of the baby and your size. some good advice though, try to grind down on your teeth if your doin it natural, its helps takes your focus on the pushing. but the better advice is: TAKE THE DRUGS!!! ripping and tearing wont even be a concern of yours
Your doctor will actually cut it if there isn't enough room for your child to come out. Of course your doctor will then sew it back up afterwards. It isn't very painful when they cut it. All I had before I gave birth was demerol. It doesn't take very long for it to heal up afterwards either. Good luck and congratulations.
Do perineal massage; look it up on mumsweb.com. It loosens the tissues of the perinium (The muscles between the vagina and rectum), gets them accustomed to the stretching that occurs during labour.
NOPE, there sure arent. Ripping and tearing depend largely of course on the size of the baby, as well as how fast labor progresses...size of pelvic outlet etc. Factors of which are largely out of your control.
Hi! I can't believe some people! You must be scared out of your wits with some of the answers you have received. You may not tear at all! I really wouldn't worry about things like that at this stage. Sit back relax and enjoy your pregnancy, the more worked up you get worrying the more chance you have of not relaxing into your labour. Honestly its the most wonderful thing in the world and any pain you may feel, will soon disappear, just think about the adorable child you will have when its all over. Good luck! for a rip free labour.
i dont think so
no, there aren't any of those kinds of things. But if the doctor needs to (and if it is your first baby) he will cut your vagina so it doesn't tear...it will be easier to sew up and the recovery takes less time, so I wouldn't worry about tearing.
it does help it u get some baby oil and massage your perineium twice daily, it can helo strech it so that u wont rip/tear during labour! i didnt know this untill after i gve birth :( try it thats all u can do!
don't use anything. if the baby is too big, the doctor will cut you a little to enable you to deliver the baby easier. don't worry, he will stitch you up after wards and you will be as good as new. YOU WON';T feel it, because they numb you up down there.
no u have to rip to have your baby
These days, the doctor will usually cut you with a scalpal on purpose. A clean, surgical cut heals much better than a forced tear/rip.

    Men's facial creams/ointments.?

are there any creams or things like it, that will not effect acne, i need a cream that will make my skin more healthy, it is very dry, but if i use the standard kinds of creams then i have a outbreak or my pimples become worse. Also is there such thing as a bronzer/toner that is oil free or doesn't effect skin oil levels.Men's facial creams/ointments.?
The line we use on men in our medical spa is Glytone. Love it! Moisturizes your skin while clearing up blemishes and preventing breakouts. Sometimes we had a blemish control gel from the Skinceuticals line as well.

As far as a bronzer goes, stick to MINERAL based bronzer powders. Some brands include Bare Minerals (can be found at Sephora or online Sephora), Jane Iredale and Youngblood Cosmetics. Use a large puffy brush and whisk around your face lightly and evenly. Make sure to do your neck too!Men's facial creams/ointments.?
The Hydrating Creme Concentrate by Bee-Luscious is different. It is NOT like other moisturizers because it is oil free and all natural. Plus NO petroleum jelly or anything at all to clog pores. You WILL love this moisturizer, if you can get past the Bee-Luscious name. LOL I guess you could always peel off the label. But seriously it is the best.

    http://www.beeroyalproducts.com/store/pr鈥?/a>
All of the bronzers and all of the make-up from Bee-Luscious are oil free. They are also free from bismuth and talcs that clog pores. Their Hydrating Cream Concentrate is THE best moisturizer I have ever used. Look up Bee-Luscious on Google.

Please tell me some creams or ointments of whitening and smoothing skin of face?

The only two I know are Philosophy and Dior products. Both are available at Sephora.com. I have the Philosophy set, its awesome. I have other products from Dior and love them!

any fairness creams or lotion, besides using spf 30 or 45 should help out, but its kinda oily. creams with saffron based extract or better yet, saffron powder mixed with milk or soya milk will do the trick..and not ony on your face but your whole body too. apply cucumber or any citrus based peel mask for soft and smooth face one or twice a week..enhance your skin with multivitamins and minarels..

What does for external use only mean? like on the side of various creams and ointments?

It means you should only use it on you not in you. So you shouldn't eat it or put it inside your body. What does for external use only mean? like on the side of various creams and ointments?
it means that at some point in time some idiot swallowed it or inserted it in themselves and it made them sick. So, the manufacturer had to put the warning label on the tube to protect some other idiot from doing the same thing. What does for external use only mean? like on the side of various creams and ointments?
don't eat it or put it in any orfices (holes).
It means don't put it where the sun don't shine.
External use only means to use to any part of the body that is cover with skin except eyes, nose, mouth and ears.
It means keep it on the outside of your body. For topical use only means the same thing. Only use it on your skin.
    it means dont eat it
Use on skin only. Don't eat, put in mouth, or in nose.
don't eat it or stick it in any other orifice.
Don't put it in your ears

Don'[t put it up your nose

Don't put it in your mouth or eat it

Don't put it up your bottom

Don't put it up your Va Ja ja

Don't put it on a open , oozing wound.

    Is that clear enough?
don't ingest or insert it. its just for the outside of the body.
It means don't put it in your mouth or any other orifice.
It means dont eat it, snort it, put it in your ear, vagina, urethra, or anus.

it does not mean that you can't use it outside.
Don't ingest it or put it inside you in any way. Also, you might not want to put it around your eyes or mouth because it might get in them.
Make sure to keep it on the outside of the body.

    JM
it means use it until it finshes...and yes don't eat it
It means if you have a gaping wound on your body you should not put the product into it. Your ears are also not an acceptable place to put the product.

Whats the best thing to do after you shave your pubes. Creams, ointments, what???

I'd suggest Nivea face balm, or any body moisterising lotion. After you wash of course.

Try to avoid alcohol based products like aftershave, just for the sake of possible 'burning' sensations... ;)Whats the best thing to do after you shave your pubes. Creams, ointments, what???
Start wearing women's clothing lol. No really, find yourself some exfoliating scrub (that's the one with sand or pumice in it) and give yourself a good wash daily.

What is the differences between pastes , ointments and creams ?

    well,here is some details:

1-Pastes:paste is a substance that behaves as a solid until a sufficiently large load or stress is applied,at which point it flows like a fluid, paste typically consists of a suspension of small particles in a background fluid, the small particles are jammed together like grains of sand on a beach, forming a disordered, glassy or amorphous structure, and giving pastes their solid-like character,in pharmacology, paste is basic pharmaceutical form,it consists of fatty base (e.g. petroleum jelly) and at least 25% solid substance (e.g. zinc oxide).

2-Ointments:an ointment is a viscous semisolid preparation used topically on a variety of body surfaces.these include the skin and the mucus membranes of the eye (an eye ointment),vagina, glans and nose,an ointment may or may not be medicated.

3-creams:Cream is semi-solid emulsion, that is mixtures of oil and water, they are divided into two types:oil-in-water (O/W) creams which are composed of small droplets of oil dispersed in a continuous aqueous phase, and water-in-oil (W/O) creams which are composed of small droplets of water dispersed in a continuous oily phase. What is the differences between pastes , ointments and creams ?
    Viscosity?

Paste - Thick, almost solid form.

Ointment - Not as thick, like grease

Cream - Even less thick, like a thick oil.

    My guess.

Is there any household remedies for mosquito bites? I have no anti itching creams/ointments.?

put a spritz of hairspray on the bite. it will stop the itch almost immediatelyIs there any household remedies for mosquito bites? I have no anti itching creams/ointments.?
Take a small bowl, some baking soda, and a little bit of cool water. Mix into a paste in the bowl, and then apply the paste to the mosquito bite and leave it on a few minutes. It should help take care of the ';itches';. That's what my mom had us do when we were growing up.

Take care.Is there any household remedies for mosquito bites? I have no anti itching creams/ointments.?
Rubbing alcohol, vinegar, or vinegar, salt, and baking soda. I used the last several times to treat bee stings, and it seems to work.

    Good luck!
House hold every day ammonia apply and let dry as many times as needed. Usually just once or twice well do it.
    A dab of toothpaste.
    Nail polish works everytime...
I have also heard dryer sheets. They also prevent bites because it irritates their feet.
I swab rubbing alcohol on mine. It takes the itch out and makes the swelling go down.
    Vinegar
Any antiseptic type of spray or cream will stop the itching. Rubbing with alcohol wipes or vinegar will stop it as well. Once the itching stops dont touch the area if you can, or else the itching will begin again.
    rub vinegar on it
    Run hot water over them.
    PLAIN RUBBING ALCOHOL.

No sign of bites in 12 to 24 hours...................promise.
At summer camp, we use to call it Sister Veronica's Lotion.

We would make a paste of baking soda, vinegar and lemon juice and put it on the bites. A baking soda bath helps take out some of the itch too.
Rub deodorant on it (doctor said so) the regular white kind.
using your thumb nail, push into the bite and make an X across it.

basically make an X mark using pressure from your thumb nail.

it really works. who knows, but we (outdoor workers) do it all the time for a quick fix.

Whut are some good creams/ointments for scars?

i have some scars from old cuts %26amp;scrapes that i really want to get rid of. do you kno of any good ointments to put on them to help them vanish?Whut are some good creams/ointments for scars?
mederma; rub on and it fades in weeks.Whut are some good creams/ointments for scars?
Vitamin E, you can buy it in liquid form and rub it on it. Its better than those ';Scar Removing'; Creams. It work for my scar from my surgery on my knee. Hope this works
glycolic acid wash and or glycolic acid moisturizer, skinceuticals vitamin c serum, kojic acid, skinceuticals phyto+
Depends on how old the scar's are. If they are new as within a month or so. You can use pure 100 percent cocoa butter. It comes in a stick form and costs less than 3.00 at any local drug store. Apply it at night and let it soak in. Wear a sun block during the day to prevent the sun from grabbing the new skin trying to repair.

The other that will help is Mederma. You can as well find it in a drug store. The question is - how old is the scar? that your going to find true results from a ointment. The older the scar the harder it is to get rid of. Once the skin is healed 100 percent and darkened its not as easy. It does as well depend on where the scar is upon the body. Meaning is it your face or your knee. Talking two different tissues. If you need help email me.

Do topical creams and ointments affect your internal organs?

not if you don't over use themDo topical creams and ointments affect your internal organs?
Some sure can - they go into your bloodstream.

For example, some people using certain prescription creams have to have liver tests done to make sure not too much of a certain ingredient was being deposited there.

Have you tried all diaper creams or ointments to find that vaseline works the best ?

As do I.. Thanks for the rating.. :) Report Abuse
Have you tried all diaper creams or ointments to find that vaseline works the best ?
Sorry... I LOVE the Boudreaux's Butt Paste! I swear by it. My daughter has never had an actual diaper rash but a couple times, like when I started her on meats and once in the summer heat, she started to get a bit of a rash and I put that butt paste on and it was gone by morning. I put a thin layer in her before bedtime every night and she has never had a diaper rash yet! I love it!
I use bepanthen. I find its actually a lot like vaseline. when it comes out the tube, its a creamy colour but when you rub it in it goes clear like vaseline.
no way would i use Vaseline. We were told in hospital to never use it.It is terrible for a babies skin and have you seen what the ingredients are?
    No.

Petrochemicals aren't ideal for adults, so I wouldn't use them on my daughter.
balmex is the best ..unlike desitin it has a yeast fighting element and wipes out more rashes faster
I love the butt paste as well!!!
I used to use Sudocrem, I found it worked best.

What is are some good ointments/creams/gels for eczema? (THAT WORK)?

Now i've tried a lot of things. They turn out oily and blotchy and itchy and red and just a nightmare. They all failed and im not sure what to do. Im embarrassed of it and i want to be able to go swimming without wearing the ones with sleeves. Or wear tees without people being disgusted. So what are some ointments, creams, gels, etc that are good for eczema? And actually WORK.

Please and Thankyou. What is are some good ointments/creams/gels for eczema? (THAT WORK)?
It's horses for courses as they say. What works well for one doesn't necessarily work for another (with the exception of maybe steroidal medications; and those do more harm than good). You may want to try anti-eczema cream and spray by Champori : it is the best medicine for eczema in MY book (it's herbal and it's been keeping me clear for more than a year now). If it doesn't work for you - it's free: they have money back guarantee.

    Best,

What have you tried? Fluticasone propionate cream (Cutivate) works very well for me. I apply this thinly to affected areas. I notice that the itchiness is gone with just one application.

Is there a significant difference between topical creams, gels, and ointments?

I vaguely remember reading about they differ in absorption, as well as with the amount of liquid it is made of.Is there a significant difference between topical creams, gels, and ointments?
Yes, you are correct. As far as I know, a cream contains an aqueous medium, so it can be applied on areas of skin where a fluid surafce is exposed. An oinment has an oil base, so to apply on intact skin. This is what I think you want to know. Not sure about the gel. Hope I helped

Please help out there, I am trying to stop breastfeeding. Are there any creams or ointments for hurting breast?

I know it will take awhile for my milk to dry up, and I am in misery. Please help out there, I am trying to stop breastfeeding. Are there any creams or ointments for hurting breast?
Wean gradually ... don't just stop.

Breasmilk is excellent for baby ... not sure why you want to stop. Please help out there, I am trying to stop breastfeeding. Are there any creams or ointments for hurting breast?
No creams - the best way to stop BF is to do it gradually. Stop one feeding for 3 days then stop another feeding for 3 days , ect. Stopping cold turkey - leaves you miserable due to eengorgement - engorgment can lead to plugged duct which could lead to mastitis.

If you must stop cold turkey - take some motrin - it can help with the pain and have your breast constricted - if the pains becomes horrible you can express a little just until you feel the pressure release.
Because the pain is from engorgement (it's on the INSIDE) there are no creams/lotions that will help.

THe main thing you need to do is wean gradually. If you cut out one feeding at a time, your milk supply will gradually decrease and you won't get engorged. Gradual weaning is also much easier on your baby, and greatly reduces the risk that you will get mastitis.
you know what i did? i used cabbage leaves! I heard that from someone i think it was a nurse. It worked. It ws so soothing! You have to put the cabbage in the fridge first, let it get really cold and then you peel off the leaves and place them in your bra. The coolness helps alot and it last for about 10 minutes. Once the leaves get warm, you put more in. I went through an entire cabbage and finally after three days, my milk was gone. Hope this helped. They also have pills you can take to stop from producing milk. The doctor can only presecribe this.
There is no ointment or cream that I know of. Binding helps, as does putting a cold cabbage leaf in your bra - don't know why the last thing works. You can take sage, and even cook with it. But cutting down on nursing gradually, to reduce your pain, will still help lower the milk production over time. Just increase the time between nursing or pumping, like every other day or once a week.
Buy some Lanolin it is a cream/gel that you can put on them...along with some cool gel patches to put in your bras to help. They say dont put on any perfume or lotions on while breastfeeding, so make sure you are completly done before putting anything on them.
You can take an over-the-counter anti inflammatory medication like ibuprofen (Motrin, Advil etc.) to help with the pain. Cold compresses may also help you feel less uncomfortable.
bind yourself up with a very tight towel untill the milk is gone !
why do you want do stop?

I was told by my vet my dog has allergies. Are there any natural creams or ointments for scratching?

Are there any natural creams or ointments I can put on my dog's coat to help with the scratching?I was told by my vet my dog has allergies. Are there any natural creams or ointments for scratching?
It would be best to try to find the cause of the allergy. Food allergies are a typical cause of itching - most commercial dog foods contain corn, soy, and/or wheat products, which are common allergens. You might try a food without these ingredients, and see if there's any improvement.

My dog had lots of allergy symptoms when I first got her. I switched her to Wellness dog food, and the scratching and other symptoms cleared up pretty quickly.I was told by my vet my dog has allergies. Are there any natural creams or ointments for scratching?
I'm sorry to hear that your dog has allergies.

Dogs can sometimes develop allergies to any protein-containing ingredient in their food. The problem develops not because the food or ingredient is ';bad'; or ';poor quality';, but rather because the dog has a hypersensitive immune system; therefore, switching your dog to a product that does not contain the ingredient your dog developed an allergy to will solve the problem. Only your veterinarian can determine exactly what ingredient that might have been.

The only definite diagnosis of food allergy in dogs and cats is an elimination/provocation exposure test, which is time consuming and burdensome. Blood or serum testing is a commonly used tool; however, the results are not totally conclusive and are better used as a guideline. Diets with “suspect” ingredients may work well for your dog.

I work for P%26amp;G Pet Care and my Shih tzu has allergies as well. I feed him the Eukanuba Sensitive Skin Formula. This is an ocean fish based diet that avoids some of the common protein sources that your dog could be allergic to. This food works great for my dog to stop his itching and scratching.

Here is a link if you are interested in this food.

    http://www.eukanuba.com/EukGlobal/US/en/jsp/product/productDetail/Sensitive%20Skin.jsp?id=1030

I hope this helps. I wish you the very best with your four-legged friend
Teatree oil shampoo tends to help, although you can't bath them too much. If it's just something in his diet, change it and it'll be better for him. If its something you can in no way change, like a grass allergy or something, use teatree.
Try giving your dog fish oil pills, they are supposed to refine the dogs coat. For the allergies you could give your dog a benadryl or other type of allergy pill, its not natural, but it helps.
I am dealing w/ the same issue right now. I am starting my dog on fish oil supplements. Do some research on it, you may want to give it a try.

  • Can I cure my eczema (dermatitis)? Does anyone know a better solution than expensive creams and ointments?

I suffer from eczema on my wrists and the trunk of my body which seems to become more angry the older I get.

I've tried steroid creams, but they do thin my skin, and some of the so called miracle cures available online that just seem to be a useless rip-off.

Has anyone heard of a better solution? Can I cure my eczema (dermatitis)? Does anyone know a better solution than expensive creams and ointments?
YES! Ah that's yes there is a better solution, not yes there is a cure yet. lol

I've suffered from eczema on my hands since childhood. My doctor was little if any help and just kept administering more creams which drove me mad because he could see they rarely helped. I'd also tried a lot of the so called ';miracle cure'; rip offs on the web with no success.

Then I was trawling through ebay one night for yet another miracle and I came across a booklet which has quite frankly (and cheesily!) changed my life! It's called ';How I Beat My Eczema'; and is an honest and frank sort of journal on how the writer did this. At just over a fiver it was a lot cheaper than most of the creams and potions being touted around so I thought what have I got to loose?

The difference in my skin now is quite unbelievable. I keep waiting for my rash to come back but it hasn't in 3 months now. It works on the author's idea that eczema comes from inside the body out and shows you cheap rather brilliant ways to prevent this while dealing with a lot of the surface discomfort. I still can't believe the difference as I'd become a virtual hermit and felt like the elephant man before! :oD

There's a small website with a link to the ebay store, or U can go straight to ebay on the link below. Hope this helps!

http://search.ebay.co.uk/search/search.dll?from=R40%26amp;_trksid=m37.l1313%26amp;satitle=immediate+permanent+relief+eczemaCan I cure my eczema (dermatitis)? Does anyone know a better solution than expensive creams and ointments?
My wife has had eczema since birth unfortunately there is no cure it the only thing you can do is try to find something that will ease the symptoms. She has tried just about everything from creams to steroids. We have ordered some products on line and none of that works either. However she has found one thing that helps considerably and that in tanning. She even was able to get her insurance to pay for it by having the doctor send the treatment authorization to the insurance company.

Now tanning has risks also you just have to weigh out the pros and the cons for her it was an easy choice cause the itching drove her insane
My friend is a nutritionist and told me just last week that one of her clients got rid of his eczema by using aloe vera gel, both ingesting it and applying it to the skin. She advises people with eczema not to buy over-the-counter aloe products (which can contain ingredients that aggravate the condition) but to buy an aloe vera plant and use the natural gel that it produces. It can't hurt.
I don't think there's really much that can be done about it. I have HORRIBLE eczema that flares up all over my arms, legs and face. My dermatologist said that it's one of the worst cases he's ever seen. I have used prescription creams and he also gave me Medrol, which worked. After a few months it came back though. I just try to constantly moisturize and that seems to help a lot. I think Cetaphil body lotion works the best.
i had that too! i bought like baby sensitive oatmeal moisturizer and it really helped! and it doesn't irritate or burn either!
    Try propolis

What's a way to get rid of abgs under eyes without buying any special creams or ointments?

Just need some suggestions! Please and Thank You!What's a way to get rid of abgs under eyes without buying any special creams or ointments?
maybe just get some sleep?!? but seriously, you could try wearing an eye-mask at night, which really reduces puffiness and and the dark circles. and there's always concealer to cover it up but that might be considered a special cream...What's a way to get rid of abgs under eyes without buying any special creams or ointments?
Put Cucumbers on your eyes leave them there for 30 mins they'll help you out alot you'll see a difference
If they are due to lack of sleep - get more rest.

If they are from allergies - take some allergy meds such as claritin.

If they are genetic - use some concealer.
Tea bags and cold cucumber slices help reduce the puffiness under the eyes.

Try freezing a spoon or an ice bag in the freezer overnight. When you wake up, use the cold spoon/bag and lightly press it over a closed eyelid. This helps reduce swelling of the bags. Also, cold cucumber slices and warm teabags (press for 10-15 min). work as well. I have heard that chilled chamomile teabags work best ..
freezing a spoon works, also try and use cucumbers, anything cold that will reduce the swelling.
.... okay dont freak out cuz you might think this sounds retarded. I wouldn't call it a special cream but supposidly hemmeroid cream reduces the appearance of bags. The main purpose of the cream is to reduce swelling. I never tried it personally but a friend of mine told me about this trick.

Plastic surgeon says no ointments or creams on healing opening of the skin?

anybody know why you wouldn't want to put ointment or even mederma on a healing opening of the skin? sore is on the face. the sutures were removed yesterday. please reply if you have experience with this.

is it better to omit ointments, vitamin E or merderma?Plastic surgeon says no ointments or creams on healing opening of the skin?
naturally is the best way for it to heal.

but ointments to prevent from a risk of infection

your choice.Plastic surgeon says no ointments or creams on healing opening of the skin?
If it were me/ I would use pure vitamin E. After it is completely healed/ then I would go to Walgreen's and/or WalMart and pick up some udder cream. That should be the way way to go. (I have had approximately 12 surgeries and that is what I did.

    Blueyes
because the wound has to dry out to form a scab to keep infection from forming inside.. mattering what you had done.. since you say plastic surgeon i assume you had something more than a line cut .. so more than likely a pocket was made and if it doesnt drain properly since healing wounds tend to ooze and drain.. it could get infected. covering it with ointments, creams or anything to block the air traps moisture .. blocking the drainage.. trapping bacteria and for the lack of a better work ';ick'; in the wound..

follow directions.. they are given for your health
Do what the sugeon says. When the wound is no longer open you can apply vit. E. If you infect the area, all his work will be ruined and then you will really have a scar.

  • What can be used to restrict capilleries? As in creams, ointments or drops?

In America you can buy Visine eye drops which contain a chemical that restricts capilleries and reduces redness. The same happens to spots of your face, the redness is reduced.

Because I can't afford to pay 拢30 shipping fees for a 拢4 bottle of visine I was wondering if there are any equivelant products avaliable in the UK?What can be used to restrict capilleries? As in creams, ointments or drops?
The ingredients in Visine eye drops - naphazoline hydrochloride 0.25mg/ml and phenirimine maleate 3mg/ml

There doesn't seem to be a UK equivalent although you can buy Visine online from ebay and a French pharmacy.

The nearest seem to be drops called Murine which contain naphazoline hydrochloride 0.012%.

Pheniramine is listed as an antihistamine, again not sold over the counter in UK.

Antihistamine eye drops called Otrivine are sold in most pharmacies though.

If you do buy both ask the pharmacist how to use them (ie are they safe to use at the same time etc). What can be used to restrict capilleries? As in creams, ointments or drops?
Hamamelis (witch hazel) is the best natural treatment for redness. I find that it helps with red spots.
I doubt america has the market on all eye drops.

Just go to a store that has a pharmacy or eye product section and look or ask for drops that clear red eyes.

    Aloe Vera Creams/Ointment?

I have an old Aloe Vera, which is about 5 years old and i would like to use it to prepare a cream/ointment out of its leaves.

Do you know other uses of the Aloe Vera plant (except for design and creams/ointments)?Aloe Vera Creams/Ointment?
I`m using Aloe Vera every year for sun-burns(only the fresh plant) and my mom use it (in a special formula) for liver treatment after she has hepatitis. My husband has for many years, problems with constipation...and he just started to drink a juice made with Aloe Vera.He seems to be better and better.I know also that it`s a natural detoxifying and provide natural support for the immune system. For all treatments the plant must be older then 5 years and not all species are good for internal use.(sorry for my English)Aloe Vera Creams/Ointment?
We always kept a live plant and when one of the kids had a burn or cut we would break off a small piece and squeeze the juice directly on the wound...healed in half the time...the fresh juice is the most potent...creams and ointments are much reduced in potency.
Aloe Vera is a good all rounder. I wouldn't mess around with creams etc as the fresh juice from the plant is perfectly made by nature and it is on tap for you so you don't need to do any thing else.

It's good for your skin, if there are any problems with your skin then put it on.

What natural ointments or creams made at home can be used to get rid of scars?

The only natural way to lighten scars is a pure cocoa butter stick. Get it at the drug store. Best to use it on cuts/incisions that have healed but haven't formed a ';scar'; yet. If you use it several times a day your scars will be MUCH better.

Acne is a common skin condition that occurs when the oil-secreting glands and hair follicles in the skin get clogged and cause bacteria to grow in the pores. You can get blackheads, whiteheads, and pimples as a result.

Some people have tried herbal treatments for the treatment of acne including tea tree oil (Nourish Skin, Pure Tea Tree Oil, Desert Essence Blemish Touch Stick with Eco-Harvest Tea Tree Oil)and arnica. Unfortunately, these herbs have not been proven to be effective for acne. Tea tree oil is thought to have anti-bacterial effects that may improve acne. One study compared tree tea oil to an over-the-counter medication called benzoyl peroxide. They found that tea tree oil is less effective than benzoyl peroxide, but also less irritating to the skin. Arnica is thought to improve acne due to its anti-inflammatory effects. However, there are no studies documenting the effectiveness of arnica for acne.

Some people also believe that applying zinc to the skin can improve acne. There are several small studies showing that zinc in combination with erythromycin antibiotic lotion, may improve acne. However, oral zinc tablets have not been proven to improve acne

  • Will triple antibiotic ointment/creams cure b.o.? if so, whats the proper way to use it?

i have this problem and my dermatologist suggested erythromycin. when that didn't work, she suggested driclor and erythromycin with clindmycin. that didn't work either. what will i do to cure my body odor? please help! Will triple antibiotic ointment/creams cure b.o.? if so, whats the proper way to use it?
My dermatologist told me that I have a condition called ';Bromhydrosis'; which is why my armpits have terrible odor even though I am not actually perspiring. I have tried Botox in the past and it did stop sweating but not the odor. I am currently on a regimen that my doctor prescribed and it is working well. I have to wash my armpits twice daily with a prescribed Acne wash called Benzoclin (the acne wash gets rid of the odor causing bacteria on your skin) and then after washing I have to put on Clindamycin gel and let it dry. After that I have to use Arid XXtra Dry spray deodorant (my derm says it is the best on the market) and let it dry as well. I know that this seems like it takes a lot of time but it is definitely worth it to me to not have to worry about smelling bad. Maybe you could ask your dermatologist about adding the wash to your regimen and see if that helps with the clindamycin they have already prescribed. I hope that this helps you! I know how bad it is to feel like you always smell bad and no one seems to understand, my bf seems to think that all body odor is related to diet, well we both eat the exact same thing and he never smells! Good luck! Will triple antibiotic ointment/creams cure b.o.? if so, whats the proper way to use it?
I got it at Walgreens, but I have also seen it at Kroger ( a local grocery store). I think that Target might carry it as well. Good luck! Report Abuse

Red meat is the number one cause of body odor. Red meat causes stagnation in the body; it putrefies in the gut. A plant-based diet is an internal deodorizer. Some of the best foods for that include parsley, cilantro, celery and all mints. Aromatic cleansers: sage, rosemary, thyme oregano, etc Report Abuse

    a
Oh my I just got botox injections and it worked wonders for my b.o., as well as sweat!!!!!!!!!! it was awesome, I totally recommend it and it barely hurt, it was more of a pinch rather than an injection pain :) I would totally do it again in a heart beat, in fact, I will in a couple of years
Where exactly is the odor from?

I mean, you can'tbe rubbing antibiotics on your armpits.

Perhaps you need a new doctor.

    Or a bath.
a lady who works with elderly patients told me

she uses Shaving Cream to stop odors from

BO %26amp; Urine she wipes it on and off and sometimes

has the person use it as soap

she said they have tried different products but the

    generic shaving creams work well

you might want to try that

    good luck

or make a paste of wet baking soda in a sock and

rub that on in the shower
I know that when I get out of the shower if I don't put on deodorant my arm pits stink within just a few minutes.

I've never heard of any creams or ointments to cure BO. That doesn't make since to me. You could try to shower twice a day (morning, and when you get home), try to use different deodorants each day. If you have excessive weight sometimes losing a few pounds can help.

Diet can also affect the way your body smells. Try eating more fruits and veggies, stay away from greesy foods and fast food.

    Good luck!

Is there an over the counter eye bag ramoval ointment or cream, or pills anyone here can suggest?

Hi, For someone wanting to get rid of bags under your eyes it is important to understand what causes the problem. Very often knowing the cause can help you to find an effective remedy. Of course, there are also general solutions you can try if you can not figure out the likely cause in your case.

Bags under your eyes can come from eating the wrong foods, retaining extra fluid, allergies or heredity. Obviously, some causes are pretty much unavoidable and out of your control.

For some causes of under eye bags there are rather simple solutions. Someone who retains extra fluid could try sleeping at night with their head raised to prevent fluid build up in their face area.

You could also try avoiding foods that might make you retain fluid. Drinking more water also helps a person to flush excess water out of their system. For others there may not be such simple solutions.

There are a couple common tactics that seem to work pretty good. Placing cucumbers, tea bags or an eye mask over the eyes can help to reduce the puffiness. Also many beauty world insiders swear by using hemorrhoid cream to reduce puffiness.

Bags caused by allergies are another case where general tips may not help. Talk with your allergist and he or she may have some solutions.

Bags under your eyes are often considered a sign of age and poor sleeping habits. That may not be true. If a person finds the real cause they can, in most cases, take simple steps to reduce or get rid of under eye bags.

Jason HomanIs there an over the counter eye bag ramoval ointment or cream, or pills anyone here can suggest?
Brew some ice tea... after the tea bags have cooled... take a nap with them over your eyes. It works! Is there an over the counter eye bag ramoval ointment or cream, or pills anyone here can suggest?
You won't believe this when I tell you. . .but good old fashioned hemerroid cream. . .you know the kind with spermacetti. It seems many of your Hollywood actors and actresses use it religiously! And I've trie it too. It helps to tighten up the bag and sag. Just don't get it into the eye.
Cucumbers work well. One slice per eye, listen to soothing music,or meditate for 20 -30 minutes.

Can someone recommend some skincare ointment or cream for dry skin and itchiness please?

    Hi guys,

I have a few issues with my skin that I'd like to take care of.

Since it's not so serious (no risk to health), and because I'm shy, I'd rather not see a doctor or dermatologist if I don't have to.

There are some visible blemishes on my face - on the sides of my nose, and above my eyebrows. The skin is often dry and has flakes there. Even when moistened, the skin will appear red a lot of the time. I'm not really sure what this is, but if someone thinks they know or if they know where I might find out about it, advice would be appreciated.

Underneath my eyebrows as well there is what seems a little bit like dandruff or something. Dead white skin flakes. Gross, I know. :S

I can sometimes peel a very small patch of skin away, but then the skin beneath will turn red and the dead skin will soon form again on top of that.

OK, apart from this, there is another thing I wanted to mention: I also have itchiness/rash issues between my legs - where my legs meet my pelvis i guess. As far up the leg as you can get on the inside of it.

So, outside my briefs on the inside part of my leg. Haha.

I think it's a different sort of skin condition since there isn't any dead skin here. Or maybe it's similar but there isn't dead skin because my leg skin is different from my facial skin.

I often find at night it is very itchy and I'll scratch there almost unintentionally while I'm half asleep. I wish it would go away though.

Anyway, I know you guys are probably disgusted by all this, but this isn't some sort of popularity contest... and hopefully someone out there can help me a little.

I sometimes use an aloe cream that I have in both areas (before bed and after showering), but it doesn't seem to work very well.

Again, thanks for any help you can provide. Can someone recommend some skincare ointment or cream for dry skin and itchiness please?

Either of this two can do but it would be better if you are goin to add foods high in fiber in your diet. It helps to soften your stools.

    Originally my own attempt was to be something that relied for comedy effect on simply going one step more shocking than yourself in the 'disgusting concept' stakes; you know the kind of thing - ';Oh, I keep my cat's nipples next to the haemorrhoid ointment in the children's lunchbox, Tim!';

But now, having sampled the rapier wit of contributors like OldSchool and Vanessa, well, I think I'd better just stick to awarding thumb-ups to the genius of others.

Credit where credit is due, I say!
Whip cream? I'll bet you say ';mash potatoes,'; too. Or do you mean cream for your whip? Either way, it's all discusting. Find something better to do with your time!

    Edit: btw, wtf?

Edit edit: Maggie, I'm always like this when I've run out of nipple ointment.
First of all, I don't have nipple ointment in the fridge.... I just get it when I need it from my Montgomery Gland.

Second, Grandmother isn't dead, but I do have a canister with her nail clippings next to my roommates Cheetos.

Are there any creams or ointment you can use to remove a face mole?

if there are how much do they cost? are there any being sold here in the philippines? Are there any creams or ointment you can use to remove a face mole?
Unfortunately, no cream or ointment can do that. A mole is an area of skin where the skin cells are producing high levels of a pigment called melanin. You can't treat that with medicine.

To remove a mole, you have to have a dermatologist perform minor surgery on the area. Sometimes heat is used to ';burn'; the mole off; other times it is removed using a tiny needle and sent to the lab for additional tests (this is what happened to me). It hurt for a few seconds, but it healed quickly, and today it is as good as new.Are there any creams or ointment you can use to remove a face mole?
no you need to have it quartercised first. go to your gp to check its not anything major, then it would be a simple operation to get rid of it- you may be left with a scar though
you need to see a skin doctor for that.

TopcortWhat is the best cream or gel or ointment for eczema?
The best thing to do for eczema is to keep your skin really moisturised. So use any emollients that puts moisture back to your skin. Something like oilatum bath can be used..its light liquid paraffin so when you go for bath you can use that. It has given good results. Also hydrocortisone 1% cream is available over the counter. It will help you to reduce your inflammation and itching. But it should be applied really thinly on small areas and only for maximum seven days (not on the face and other really sensitive areas). Using Aqueous Cream will also prove to be beneficial for remoisturising your skin.

Evening primrose oil has also proved to be beneficial for some people.
try to apply a betnovate n or betnovate gm cream from glaxosmithkline.

but i think that a benzyl benzoate liniment works best for eczema. try to find it in any pharmacy or some pharmacy having formulation department can immediately make it. apply two-three times a day and always try to keep the place clean from dirt. Best of Luck!
    Skin Original from http://www.skinoriginal.com/eczema.htm
External application may not cure fully. Homoeopathic ointment Graphite works. Better take some oral treatment. Consult a homoeopath for constitutional treatment. Drinking Indian Mulberry also quite effective for any type of skin ailment.
this worked best for my daughter- and I've tried many natural things as well as hydrocortisone - but this is all-natural and it worked- not many flareups now

    www.katuri.com
External applications like Creams and Gels are dangerous. If you find eczema like eruptions on skin please understand that the defense mechanism of the human body is at work. It keeps the disease on the skin to protect the internal organs/important organs. In another way you can understand that the defense mechanism throw out the toxins of the body to the skin. Superficial Creams will suppress the skin disease and send it inside the body. It will - of course - harm the major important organs like lungs, kidney and heart. Go for internal medicine. A good diagnosis is needed. Better you go for Alternate Medicine, Particularly Homeopathy.

Can someone recommend me of cream or ointment for vitiligo on my crotch?

Vitiligo is difficult to treat. Early treatment options include the following:

    * Exposure to intense ultraviolet light, such as narrow-band UVB therapy

    * Oral medications, such as trimethylpsoralen (Trisoralen)

    * Topical (on the skin) medications

o Repigmenting agents such as methoxsalen (Oxsoralen)

o Immunosuppressants such as pimecrolimus (Elidel) and tacrolimus (Protopic)

    o Corticosteroid creams

Skin may be grafted or removed from normal areas and placed into areas of pigment loss. In the future, skin pigment cells may be grown in the laboratory and used to treat areas of vitiligo.

Several manufacturers produce cover-up makeup or skin dyes to mask vitiligo. Ask your health care provider for the names of these companies.

In extreme cases when most of the body is affected, the remaining pigmented skin may be de-pigmented. This is a permanent change and is a last resort.

It is important to remember that skin without pigment is extremely susceptible to the sun's damaging effects. Be sure to apply a high-SPF sunblock and use appropriate safeguards against sun exposure.

  • Is there any certain cream or ointment to stop peeling after sunburn??

i went to the fair. i was wearing a tank top and got burn. now im peeling...obiously...but it looks ugly. is there a way i can prevent that???Is there any certain cream or ointment to stop peeling after sunburn??
i think girls who peel are hot. just leave it alone and you'll be attracting good looking boys.Is there any certain cream or ointment to stop peeling after sunburn??
Well the best thing for a sunburn is normally Aloe Vera. It might not help much now, so you may just want to try a deep moisture lotion. I personnally am a fan of several different Aveeno lotions.
Hi. I think i know what you need. Well ive lived in hawaii all my life and i am also hawaiian, and whenever i get or got sunburns i used an ointment that had aloe in it... it was a clear greenish cream. I now live in Las Vegas so no longer use it.. i 4got the name
yes there is. try aloe it works. so good.
No, Bloo, the damage has been done. Peeling is the body's way of getting rid of dead skin. There are things you can use to relieve the soreness, and aloe vera is the most effective, if you use the plant rather than the commercial products, but as the skin is already dead, you can't stop the peeling. Brag about it - they'll all want to peel a bit off. Don't let them, though. That could REALLY damage your skin!
Aloe vera gel and lots of cocoa butter lotion. Stay out of the sun or wear SPF.
unfortunatly no. prevention is better than cure so wear suncream :) try aftersun for itching
non-scented lotion will help. But honestly, once it starts peeling just pull the peely-stuff off and wash it gently. In the future, wear some sunscreen and if you do get burnt, put some aloe-vera on it ASAP and later a cool washcloth to bring some of the heat out.
Aloe Vera gel or cream and keep well moisturized
Aloe is good for sunburns in that it helps the skin heal. The top layer of skin that is already dead will probably just keep peeling off, but perhaps the next layer can be helped.
you could put sheabutter or Vaseline on it.
Aloe Vera (the higher percent, the better)

    Usually green
Constantly apply lotion. Your peel because you skin is dried out keep is moisturized. when you get out of the shower before you dry off apply baby oil. Then pat dry. Before you put on clothes put on lotion. This will make your skin soft and keep the moisture in. Of course apply more lotion throughout the day were you were burnt. i know aloe helps with the pain but i don't know if i will help with peeling.
mary kay extra emollient night cream this stuff is awsome

if you put it on like 3-7 after you get sun burnt you will never

no you even had sunburn i'm not lying

    What is difference between cream&ointment?

The answers about creams being more water-soluble and ointments being more oil-based are correct to a degree, but it's not as simple as that. Actually the difference between creams, ointments, lotions, gels, etc. is based more on the ratio of products because they contain similar ingredients in different amounts. Ointments today rarely contain lanolin (woolfat) because many people are allergic to wool. Ointments and creams have a long history, see 1st link.

    Rick the Pharmacist

Science follows: Creams are semi-solid emulsions, that is mixtures of oil and water. They are divided into two types: oil-in-water (O/W) creams which are composed of small droplets of oil dispersed in a continuous aqueous phase, and water-in-oil (W/O) creams which are composed of small droplets of water dispersed in a continuous oily phase. Oil-in-water creams are more comfortable and cosmetically acceptable as they are less greasy and more easily washed off using water. Water-in-oil creams are more difficult to handle but many drugs which are incorporated into creams are hydrophobic and will be released more readily from a water-in-oil cream than an oil-in-water cream. Water-in-oil creams are also more moisturising as they provide an oily barrier which reduces water loss from the stratum corneum, the outmost layer of the skin. An ointment is a viscous semisolid preparation used topically on a variety of body surfaces. These include the skin and the mucus membranes of the eye (an eye ointment), vagina, anus, glans and nose. An ointment and creams are used cosmeticall as well as medically and may or may not be medicated. What is difference between cream%26amp;ointment?
ointment is medicine, cream is moisturiserWhat is difference between cream%26amp;ointment?
cream is water based. ointment is oil/fat based (usually wool fat a.k.a lanolin) so it is greasier, and tends to sit on the skin longer. both do the same thing but some prefer one texture over another.
Cream is water based and ointment is oil based.

Cream can easily wash off from water but ointment can't it stays longer.
    friend,

Both terms are normal used in the same sense.

Cream appears to be thick, semi oily(or semi liquid) and has some colour white normally. And in cosmetics we use creams much, and in medicines not that much.

but ointment is either menthol based 9 as it is a medicine carrier ) and oily mostly. It is used medicinally most times.

    If you want the meaning of the terms the cream has so many and the common one for both is as below,from dictionary;

CREAM OR OINTMENT = Toiletry consisting of any of various substances in the form of a thick liquid that have a soothing and moisturising effect when applied to the skin

and have some medicinal effects also.
I think you apply a cream and you rub an ointment :(
As a rule, base of an ointment is some suitable oil, it stays on the skin, and feels oily.

    Example:

Ponds makes ';Cold Cream';, one of them is call cold cream, this is actually is and ointment, oil base, it is used at night at bed time.

Ponds also makes ';Vanishing Cold Cream';, this is applied during the day time it is disappears but still stay effective, probably alcohol base, or some suitable base that vanishes.

Cream may not be vanishing kind, but uses cream instead of oil,it may be water base or some other liquids or combination of liquids, or jell, but not definitely any oil, but not oily looking or oily to touch.
Creams generally are for minor things like scrapes, abrasions, and things like that and do not contain any real medication, where ointments do contain medications in them for promoting healing of again usually minor things.
creams mostly applied for outlook.Oinment for healing wound.
ones in a tube the other in a jar=they can be different strengths!!!

I would let the doctors remove moles, not bloodroot ointments.

Is there any ointment or cream for this?

Is there any ointment or cream for this?

Well i like to pop my acne all the time which maybe to you guys isn't a good thing. Well it's starting not to be a good thing to me as well since i get brownish areas which i guess could be called scars and i can assume it comes from my fingernails pressing down on my skin so much. Is there any cream or medicine to speed up the process of getting regular colored skin again? Is there any ointment or cream for this?
those aren't scars, they are hyperpigmented areas. there is no cream that you can use to get rid of them faster, they have to go away on their own.

What diaper rash cream or ointment do you think works the best?

i've used Balmex, Destin, and Butt Paste.

my son got a mean diaper rash last night from having diarrhea.. i hate when he gets it.. i feel so bad for him.. his lil butt's all red and he won't sit down and he'll bend his knees up when i pick him up so i don't touch his butt...

so anyway.. obviously i know how to treat it and have always just used Balmex or Destin but they sting him when i first put it on him so last night i tried that Butt Cream and noticed he didn't cry out in pain as much with that...

so what have you found that is the best to treat diaper rash.. or do you have any special tricks that help soothe their little bums? What diaper rash cream or ointment do you think works the best?
Triple PasteWhat diaper rash cream or ointment do you think works the best?
I have always used aquaphor. The only thing that my children didn't scream with. My children have an allergy to zinc, so those types of creams were out and I have had great results. My children would get bad diaper rashes from generic diapers. Aquaphor cleared the rash within a couple of diaper changes. You can find it anywhere. Wal-Mart was the cheapest I found it.
Poor little guy! When my kids had one that bad I would use either plain old Vaseline or Bag Balm. At that point all they needed was a protective moisturizing barrier, I found that any of the medication ointments just seemed to irritate the broken skin more or were just plain uncomfortable to apply. I hope he feels better soon.
Triple Paste. It's non-prescription but behind the counter at the pharmacy. It's a miracle. By the time they wake up it's gone. Dont use too much (you know how you can load up w/ Desitin? dont do that) or it doesn't absorb - it's kind of pastey. I STILL use it on the kids (way post diaper years) if they have diarrhea rashes or wipe poorly.
The one that has worked the best for me is A %26amp; D. Not any of the white kinds of ointment. My daycare parents totally agree with the A %26amp; D too.

The white creamy kind hurts my child too. I cant use that anymore. You gotta find the one that looks like chapstick. Seriously!
    Try DRC ointment!

I have worked in a pharmacy for many years, am familar with all sorts of ointments, and will not use anything else. I have also heard from SO many many parents that this works the best. Please try it. It may be behind the counter, so ask the pharmacist.

    http://www.diaperrashcreme.com/index.htm…
poor thing..diarrhea is the only way my son gets rashes to..first stop using the wipes, use damp paper towels to wipe..let him air dry as long as possible..then a thin layer of any cream with zinc oxide in it and then glob on vaseline, this is the best barrier. it will take a couple of days, but it is the best method
Pure cornstarch you get from the grocery store. It doesn't have anything in it to hurt the baby's butt and it usually clears it up just as quick as the ointments. I used it on my boys all the time for rashes and it worked wonders.
In my experience, diaper rash creams only hold in the moisture and cause the rash to last longer. I use lots of baby powder with cornstarch and more frequent diaper changes, every 2 hours at least even if he's not wet.
Triple paste is by far the most amazing one out there! My daycare provider suggested it to me with James, and now I won't use anything else on the babby's. Even a bad rash is gone in 2-3 applications.
I don't like butt paste. Expensive and low efficacy. I prefer just plain old Desitin. It worked on me when i was a baby 30 years ago, and it works great on my 4 month old son.
I rarely use a cream but if I do it's Butt Paste.

When his bum is a bit red, I slather on liquid Mylanta and generously sprinkle pure corn starch on top of that. Stops a would-be diaper rash in its tracks!!
A%26amp;D Ointment is my personal favorite.

It smells bad, but it does what it is meant to do.

You can get it at target.
All I use is BUTT PASTE!

    I swear by it.

I tried using both desitin, and balmex ONCE..they were gifts.

And with both of them Brody cried..that was the end of that for me..
Actually Nina is right on the triple paste. My sister uses it on my nephew.Destin is the only one I could think of myself.
Boudreaux's Butt Paste works the best. It's all I use on Landon. Put it on your little man at every diaper change and after every bath and he should be doing better in a couple of days.
Penatin cream - it comes in a thin round blue tin and I believe it contains Zinc oxide. I also used corn starch (in a salt shaker)
Aquaphor is the best. It helps with diaper rash as well as dry skin. It is the only thing i use on my daughter
Desitin extra creamy is the best out there.
I used A %26amp; D Ointment and Desitin on my three boys
I use A%26amp;D ointment and it works well for my son...
Destin is the only one I can use on my baby
I use Butt Paste when I run out of my usually diaper rash cream, it is the best you can buy at the stores, I feel. I use Arbonne's Herbal Diaper Rash Cream, it is 100% natural and works 100% better than anything else I have ever tried...and I have tried all of them. My daughter doesn't cry or squirm or flinch or try to get way when I put it on, she knows it feels good when I put it on. It also smells like peaches, it's great. It's pricey at $14.00 plus shipping but it goes a long way and it doesn't sting or hurt my daughter in anyway so I say it is worth it. I have seen you can buy it on eBay if you do not have an Arbonne consultant.

**I aslo agree with using a soft warm wash cloth instead of wipes, I do this anyway...but it is especially important with diaper rash as wipes usually have alcohol in them that sting very badly.
I know this is going to sound totally outrageous to you %26amp; probably anyone else that reads this. But try not putting anything on it for a day %26amp; just use a warm wash cloth %26amp; let it dry before putting the diaper back on. My daughters butt had been red since the day she came home from the hospital! I tried all kinds of different creams, diapers %26amp; wipes. Nothing was helping. I constantly had to take her to the doctors to get a prescription cream for it. Finally when I switched ped's, they told me to not put anything on it for a day %26amp; only use a warm wash cloth to wipe. So I did %26amp; my daughters butt hasn't been red since %26amp; that was about 3 weeks ago %26amp; she is still CLEAR of a rash. But before that I used to use boudreaux's butt paste. It worked well, but not good enough.
    Oh, poor Ayden! :-(

Ben has gotten bad diaper rash a couple of times from being on antibiotics. But, we use cloth dipes usually so I don't really keep diaper cream on hand (your not suppose to use it with cloth).

I usually just give him as much time out of the diaper to air out as possible. I also use wash clothes or paper towels with water instead of wipes. I know this probably going to sound weird too...but I have also used a little bit of breast milk to soothe his bottom. Yogurt also helps.

  • What is the difference between topical lidocaine 1%cream or gel and topical dibucaine 1% ointment?

They are just two different topical anesthetics. They are both amides. Dibucaine is a carboxamide and Lidocaine is an acetamide. They function in very similar ways but just have structural differences from a molecular standpoint.

Since all patients respond differently to different drugs, it may be that one would be slightly more effective than the other fo any given patient, or they may both be of equal efficacy. It is just dependent on the patient.

What is the best cream/ointment to put on your new tattoo?

i used E45 cream on both my tattoos

no dont keep it moist all the time my friend did that and it faded and she had to have it re-done

just put the cream on 3-4 times a day and when he washes

it will scab over a bit coz in the end it is a cut. just let the scab come off by itself
preperation h gel and depending on how that goes try covering with cling film for an hour or so to help lock in moisture. this is what i was told and it worked for me. every one is different!

  • Can someone recommend some skincare ointment or cream for dry skin and itchiness please?

It helps to soften your stools.Which is best to use for hemroids....preperation h cream or ointment or gel?
I swear by Preparation H ointment. (It also works for acne breakouts). And if you are in pain from the hemorrhoids, you can buy Dermoplast. It is liquid gold and quite versatile. Just spray where the pain is and the pain disappears. Good luck. Lori.Which is best to use for hemroids....preperation h cream or ointment or gel?
It depends on if they are internal, or external, those work great for external hemorrhoids, but not for internal. I suggest you check with your doctor.

I'm confused...hmm when are we going to used ointment and cream....?

Ok, not entirely sure what you're asking here, but I'll try anyway. If you're talking about something like neosporin, use it on any minor cuts, burns, scrapes, et cetera. It can't harm anything and will most likely help. The only caveat to that is don't put it on serious burns as it can trap the heat and make the burns worse.

I hope that answers your question, it's not terribly clear.

Well when I shave my bikini area I like to use hand sanitizer with aloe....it feels good and keeps me from getting bumps. Apply a couple of times a day for a couple of days....give or take.

  • A question about the eye ointment cream in the hospital?

So a lady just asked about whether we allowed the eye ointment cream in the hospital or the hepatitis B vaccine and such. Well, I allowed the cream because I was told it was for the clogged ducts (to prevent it if they get it) and to get any other gunk out of their eye from coming down through the birth canal. Well a person responded farther down and said it was for Gonorrhea and Chlamydia - I believe. Am I thinking of the right ointment or is there possibly another one? I was not aware of this at all with the ointment, and I wouldn't have given it to him if I would've known this (not that I am too worried now, but still). Am I thinking of the right ointment?A question about the eye ointment cream in the hospital?
We didn't get it with 2 kids, 1 got it because it was an emergency and I was knocked out. It is an antibiotic, which shouldn't be used unless there is a risk. My husband and I are free and clear. Yes the Erythrymycin ointment is preventative for possible STD's. Another reason we wouldn't get it is because we have a lot of immediate family members allergic to alot of things like this including me. I am allergic to erythrymycin myself, and my little guy is allergic (very) to neomycin a vaccine ingredient, so he doesn't get them either. We got aluminum allergies too, no aluminum bad rashes and its in vaccines, and deodorant. Pain to get special no aluminum deodorant.

Erythrymycin is a catch all antibiotic, its used alot for 'pink eye' (conjunctivitis) among many other things

I do have an autistic son that is highly allergic to colloidal silver and any heavy metal for that matter.A question about the eye ointment cream in the hospital?
the eye ointment is preventative for infection, routine, safe...so don't worry about that....i would get the heb b shots, bc it isn't something u can get rid of once u have it ; i wouldn't think it is common in babies, but u never know what someone may have that they don't tell u about, and u can't tell by looks....
Yes, the antibiotics are used to prevent infection.

I didn't use either for my children because I had a home birth and didn't want chemicals being put into my babies eyes so I used colloidal silver.I am also STD free so I never had to worry about it.

They also are saying now that it is not effective for chlamydia...only gonorrhea.
they check for STDS twice while you are pregnant once at the beginning and once at the end..so wouldnt they know if you had the infection? not only that most women with STDS have c-sections so that way they dont pass it to the baby...I guess I will find out once mine is born..but I dont have an STD so idk..
i kno its for one of those stds... if they didnt get the ointment and they had the disease in their eyes they can go blind
The eye ointment is used to prevent the baby from getting any infection from the hospital. Its used for many many different things. Its used for all those things above. My son was given it when he had conjunctivitis. Why not give it to your baby if it prevents eye infection?

ETA: I rather put medication in his eye then breast milk plus at that point I was not breast feeding or expressing anything. Not everyone breast feeds I hope you know.

ETA2: Well when you take an anti-biotic do they tell you everything that it is used for? No most likely not because it is used for so many different things. The ointment is like an anti-biotic its used for everything. Infection and dust getting in the eye. Remember that in a hospital setting its so easy to catch something especially for a newborn baby who doesn't have much of a immune system. If my doctor had told me what it was used for right after I had my son it would go though one ear and out the other. I wasn't paying any attention to anything going on around me. My main focus was my new beautiful baby boy.
Yes, it's done in case mom has STDs. I do not, neither does my husband, and we are monogamous. There is no reason for my children to get the ointment. :)

***Breast milk cures conjunctivitis btw. :)

*LOL yes i know not everyone breastfeeds! I am on YA enough to notice. ;) But it does work; I even gave pumped milk to a friend for her husband to use on himself. It was hilarious!

I'm not sure why you'd choose meds over breast milk. If you had the milk, it would work. Natural is always the best option if it's possible. No side effects!

You're right, newborns do not have a developed immune system. So why then does it make any sense to put antibiotics in their eyes unless mom has the STDs? Antibiotics tank an adult immune system! It should be decided on a case-to-case basis, and not given as a blanket ';precaution.'; Our babies would be healthier overall if less of them began life with antibiotics....sigh.

The colloidal silver mentioned is a great alternative!! :)
Well, I looked online, because I did have it put in my son's eyes and they said that it prevented different infections. I have not had any sexually transmitted diseases, and neither did my husband - I had a c-section - so I wondered why they did that because most websites specifically talk about the infections they can pick up in the birth canal and found this little tidbit: ';It is also important to note that the bacteria have been found in the eyes of newborns delivered by c-section. As these babies never passed through the birth canal, the bacteria may be transmitted through the air, or on the hands of nurses, doctors, and other caregivers.'; - interesting if nothing else.

Settle this argument: Best way to heal skin abrasion is...vitamin E lotion? A and D cream? or skin ointment?

I say skin ointment my other friend says vitamin e, and another guy says a and d stuff. I have a minor skin abrasion (not a cut, just the top layer of skin peeled off and its red looking). Whats the FASTEST way to heal it?Settle this argument: Best way to heal skin abrasion is...vitamin E lotion? A and D cream? or skin ointment?
I suggest a product that replaces skin, depending on where you live it may not be availiable but sone Neosporin and a Band-Aid works fine too.

For Wrist Sprain, what ointment/cream works best?

For Wrist Sprain, what ointment/cream works best?

Iodex, Moov, Amrutanjan or any others?

Thanks in advanceFor Wrist Sprain, what ointment/cream works best?
for any sprain, ice works best. It decreases inflammation and pain. Also wrap the wrist with an ace wrap, not too tightly, to support it. Take Ibuprofen 400mg, every six hours for residual pain. For Wrist Sprain, what ointment/cream works best?
    try deep heat
ice your wrist every 20 minutes for 2-3 hours so u can control the bloodflow.
    Try BENGAY. IT works superbly.

Is there a difference between cream and ointment?

Cream is usually water based. Ointment is usually oil based. Is there a difference between cream and ointment?
Yes. Cream is along the same line as lotion only lots thicker. Ointment usually has a petroleum base and is greasy like Vaseline.

Is there a whitening cream/ointment that will help whiten those ';dark side spots'; that surrounds the waist?

Those ugly ';blemishes'; caused by simply wearing underwear %26amp; pair of shorts with tight garters(even jeans all these years) that leaves an ugly ,dark shade in everyone's waist. Is there a whitening cream/ointment that will help whiten those ';dark side spots'; that surrounds the waist?
I suffer from the same problem as you! Even if the pant/under garments is not too tight it will cause the same problem too right? I wish I knew how to get rid of those scars but unfortunately I don't. Perhaps you could try lightening cream? All I know how to prevent it from getting worst is try not to wear underwear/pants for long periods of time - go nude in the privacy of your bedroom. Is there a whitening cream/ointment that will help whiten those ';dark side spots'; that surrounds the waist?
Wear looser clothes? I'm unfamiliar with that problem.

What are the dangers of applying ointment/ creams when not needed?

It depends on(1) the active material in them, for example if it is antibiotics, then it may cause infection by an organism that is resistant to that antibiotic.(2) where to apply?

In most cases not much to lose nor to gain.

If it is not types used for moisture and similar, then BETTER NOT.What are the dangers of applying ointment/ creams when not needed?
Pretty much nothing except that you are wasting ointment/creams that you could have saved for an actual rash

  • ALDARA Ointment/Cream?

Where in the Philippines can I buy Aldara Ointment/Cream?ALDARA Ointment/Cream?
You may want to rethink using that cream. I was prescribed it for actinic keratoses, and before using it I checked with my dad, who's used creams like it for the same problem. He said it turns your skin to hamburger meat and it hurts like hell. And you have to use it for several weeks at a time for it to work. I can't afford to look like a monster with these 'battery acid'-like treatments. I'm going to do photodynamic therapy with Levulan, which is much more effective, quick, and cosmetically appealing. Costs a bit more, but worth it.
